From My Daddy's Garage to My Creative Workshop
Michele GreeneShare
I was the only child of Ron Evanshine, a genius with anything mechanical, especially cars. I was his sidekick, his apprentice, his "girlie" mechanic, and my love for what I do today was born in his garage.
My dad taught me to be tough, resourceful, and creative. He wanted me to know how to do things myself, so I spent my childhood learning the basics of car repair and how engines worked. To the surprise of many, I was always right there with him, ready to get my hands dirty. My dad's passion for mechanics was infectious. He taught me to appreciate the beauty and gentleness of a well-oiled machine. "Don't force it!" he would say. "It's always designed to work smoothly."
He had big plans for me to take over his franchise business one day. I didn't end up going that route, but his lessons live on in everything I create. I took his love for mechanics and beauty and turned it into my own entrepreneurial journey—I call it Girlie Car Stuff.
Inspired by My Father
While I've expanded my work to include home décor and a range of unique products, you'll find a piece of my dad in every single design. Whether it's a piece of art inspired by a vintage car part or a home décor item with a unique mechanical flow, his influence is always there.
My father, Ron Evanshine, was 50% of my inspiration. I was his one and only, and he was my forever. This business, this creativity, this desire to make beautiful, functional things—it's all because of him.
To My Daddy, Ron Evanshine, I love you. Forever and Always.
