More Than a Name: The Palm Beach Proper Legacy

More Than a Name: The Palm Beach Proper Legacy

Michele Greene

There's a reason my company is called PBP PUB. It's a tribute to a woman whose legacy is woven into every part of my life, starting with the very name of my brand. For my mom, Peggy Bradford, the island of Palm Beach wasn't just a place—it was "Palm Beach Proper." It was a term of endearment, a feeling of timeless style and elegance that she introduced me to, and it became the foundation of everything I do.

The name PBP is a perfect storm of legacy. The "PB" are her initials, a constant reminder of the woman who taught me everything. It’s also for Palm Beach Proper, the place she taught me how to find my own style. And the legacy doesn't stop there. My firstborn son is named Bradford, and my youngest is Giles, after my mom's father. Every part of my company's name is a tribute to the family she built and the values she instilled.

A Worth Avenue Education

My mother was not just a mom; she was a curator of style. She took me to shop on Worth Avenue for my school clothes, introducing me to the world of Gucci, Cartier, and everything Palm Beach. It was more than just shopping; it was an education. She taught me to appreciate quality, timeless design, and the power of a quiet, confident style.

She was the greatest person I ever knew, a wise and silent cheerleader only I could hear. Her words of wisdom and guidance still echo in my mind every single day, helping me make decisions and protect my peace. The sacrifices she made throughout her life were for me, and I owe her everything.

My Dream: A Legacy of Style and Design

My dream is to make this company a living, breathing testament to her legacy of style and design. She was a master of curating her own world, and now, through PBP PUB, I have the great honor of sharing that vision with the world.

She was and is the most incredible person I have ever known, and I had the greatest honor to be called her daughter. This is not just a company; it is her legacy, and a way to celebrate her brilliance forever.
